    Original blue cloth backstrip with light blue paper over boards and titles stamped in black on the spine. Light shelf wear to boards. Contents slightly toned but tight. Former owner's address ink stamp on the front pastedown and last page of text. Contemporary bookplate on the front free endpaper. Book near fine in a very good bright dust jacket with some nicks and rubbing at top spine end, a few edge nicks and a few tiny stains on the lower portion of the rear panel.


    McEvoy's classic Hollywood novel of young Dixie Dugan who goes to Hollywood to become a talkie's star. Basis for the acclaimed 1930 Technicolor film Show Girl in Hollywood, directed by Mervyn LeRoy and starring Alice White and Jack Mulhall. Dixie Dugan was the central character in other films of the period.
