London: Cassell and Company, Ltd., [1922]. First edition, first issue. Octavo. 311 pages. Original decorated green cloth, front panel stamped in blind, spine panel stamped in gilt, bottom edge untrimmed. Some bumping and light rubbing to spine ends and corners but generally quite nice. Textblock shows occasional foxing and age toning. Dust jacket is worn and chipped at corners and spine ends. The fifth and last of Wells's novels dealing with relations between man and woman. [and:] The Autocracy of Mr. Parham. London: William Heinemann Ltd., [1930]. Octavo. 370 pages with ten double-page illustrations. Bound in red cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. Minor wear and bumping to spine ends, corners. Textblock is lightly foxed on edges, else fine. Dust jacket is worn, chipped, and torn; spine is slightly faded.
