Original decorated blue cloth; front and spine panels stamped in gilt; black coated endpapers. Moderate rubbing and wear to corner tips and edges; small section of water damage at upper right corner of cover board. Head and tail of spine are frayed and badly worn; spine is faded. Front flyleaf bears embossed stamp of "W.H. Smith & Sons, London." Twelve inserted plates with illustrations by Claude Shepperson. Textblock is somewhat age toned, but generally in fine condition.
