Philadelphia: Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co., 1841. First edition. Two 12mo volumes. viii, 13-314; 403 pages. Bound uniformly in modern three-quarter blue leather and marbled boards. Titles, decoration and rules appear in six compartments between five raised spine bands. Satin place marks. Marbled endpapers. Contents slightly toned with areas of light foxing scattered throughout. Former owner's large book plate on the second front free endpaper of each volume. About fine.

    The first volume includes chapters on Mexican history, along with chapters on Spanish-American relations, the Burr Conspiracy, the Fredonian War, Austin's colony . The second volume deals with the history of Texas colonization, the Revolution and the aftermath.
