Quarter light green cloth over gray-green boards with the spine stamped in gilt and the front cover stamped in gilt and olive green, housed in a chemise and slipcase. Very good.

    Housed in a green cloth chemise and a quarter green leather over green cloth slipcase with the spine stamped in gilt.

    Very light rubbing, slightly bumped corners and spine ends, light chipping to fore-edge and corners and minor toning to the edges. Small pencil notations to endpapers, previous owner's bookplate affixed to front pastedown endpaper and small rips to front free endpaper from something removed that was previous affixed. Slipcase is very lightly rubbed, slightly darkened at the top edge and has a small chip at the foot of the spine.

    Henry Cuyler Bunner (1855-1896) was the editor of Puck from 1877 until his death, during which time he transformed the weekly periodical into a highly influential political and social publication.

    The first twelve stories first appeared in Puck between July and October of 1890. The thirteenth story "An Old, Old Story," appeared prior to the others in January of 1888.

    First edition, printing F points: No advertisements, pages 7 and 47 are not numbered, the "g" in "Midge" on the title page is not broken and has no serif, "fashionadle" misprint on page 42, all edges cut. Octavo. iv, 232 pages. BAL 1913
