Description

George Washington. History of the George Washington Bicentennial Celebration. Washington, D. C.: United States George Washington Bicentennial Commission, 1932.
First edition. Complete in five small folio volumes.

Publisher's blue textured cloth with gilt titles. Moderate spine wear to most volumes, including a 6 inch tear to the spine of Volume III, fading of the spine titles, bumped corners, and rubbing, front hinge of Volume V starting. Overall, a good, solid example of this desirable set.

The books presented here are jam-packed with articles by and about Washington, and the volumes are lavishly illustrated with period prints, maps, diagrams, facsimile reproductions of documents, and black & white photographs. The first three volumes are the Literature Series; Volume 4 details Foreign Participation; Volume 5 contains the Complete - Final Report of the George Washington Bicentennial Commission.
