Publisher's cream cloth with gilt lettering, rules and pictorial devices to front boards and spines. Top edges gilt. Bindings slightly cocked. Minimal offsetting to endpapers. Minor bumping to corners. Armorial bookplate of John Coppin Straker, a member of Britain's horsey set, on each front pastedown. The books are in fine condition; both volumes are in the scarce original dust jackets, which are faded and which have chipping to extremities, most prominently to spine ends of Volume I. A very nice set.
