One of twenty-five numbered copies "hors-commerce," out of a total edition of 300 copies. With an original watercolor drawing by Barbier, signed "Aux amis Marty [Charles Martin?] / bien cordial souvenir de / George Barbier 1928." Quarto. 20 pages. Mounted etched frontispiece portrait of Barbier by Charles Martin, and twenty-five mounted plates reproducing costume designs by Barbier, colored through stencils and heightened with gold and silver. Descriptive tissue guards. Bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe in full gray crushed morocco. Covers decoratively paneled in gilt, gilt spine with two raised bands, gilt board edges and turn-ins. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Marbled endpapers. A little minor toning. Otherwise a fine copy.
