Erskine Caldwell. Tobacco Road. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1932. First edition. Octavo. 241 pages. Terra cotta cloth with front cover and spine stamped in blind and gilt. Turquoise endpapers. Original dust jacket with $2.50 price. Very good.

    More Information:

Boards display very minor rubbing, bumping to the corners and spine ends and slight discoloration to the spine and rear board. Darkened textblock edges. The spine is leaning slightly. Tiny pencil notations to front endpapers. Dust jacket is slightly soiled, rubbed, the spine is discolored, tiny closed tears and chips to the edges and spine ends and a small loss to the spine head where part of the word "tobacco" is missing. A very good copy of this novel focused upon a Southern cotton farming family during the Great Depression.
