Ernest Hemingway Rare Privately Printed Edition of Two Christmas Tales. Inscribed by publisher To Gary Cooper. (Berkeley: The Hart Press, 1959), first edition, 5 pages, blue paperbound with cover illustrated in black, (6.5" x 10"), deckled fore-edge. Small card (4.25" x 2") partially pasted on the front page reading "Merry Christmas Ruth and James D. Hart". Stored in a blue cloth-bound slipcase with a leather title plate on the spine with gilt lettering. This edition, limited to 150 copies, was never offered for sale, and gathers two stories originally published in The Toronto Star Weekly, "A North of Italy Christmas" and "Christmas in Paris." This lovely collection is illustrated throughout by Victor Anderson. There is one small tear to the bottom corner of the cover, a small crease in the top corner and a bend in the tail of the spine, but otherwise this exceedingly rare Hemingway piece is in fine condition. A must-have for even the most astute Hemingway collector.
