DescriptionCharles Francis Adams. Texas and the Massachusetts Resolutions. Boston: Eastburn's Press, 1844. First edition. 8vo. 54 pp. Maintains its original printed paper wraps but has been sewn and taped into a portfolio at a much later date. With the exception of a small damp stain on the title page, toning to the wraps, and some foxing to the fore-edges it is in fine condition.
Expanded from columns published in the Boston Courier, Adams discusses the merits for and against the annexation of Texas. Adams held that it was the right and duty of the Free States to dissolve the Union in the event that Texas was annexed.
