Uniformly bound in sumptuous red crushed levant morocco with gilt spine titles inside five raised bands. Inner covers decoratively tooled with designs unique to each title and double-ruled borders in gilt. Marbled endpapers. Top edges gilt. Moderate wear and soiling to the bindings. Corners and edges rubbed. Spines darkened. Some very occasional faint foxing or soiling. Spine rebacked on A Christmas Carol. Hinges starting on The Chimes, and with front endpapers detached. Boards partially detached on The Cricket on the Hearth. Front cover of The Battle of Life almost completely detached. Rear cover starting. Endpapers and vignette title leaf detached. Endpapers and vignette title leaf detached on The Haunted Man. All in all, a very good set of Dickens' wondrous holiday works.
