Original publisher's cloth spine and paper over boards with armorial vignette stamped in gilt on the front board and titles stamped in gilt on the spine. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed. Ownership inscription on the front free endpaper, contents trivially toned, else a near fine copy. Bashford Dean served as honorary curator of arms and armor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Upon his death, the museum purchased his fantastic collection which is documented in this fine book.
