Captain Buckley Burton Paddock was a business and civic leader and a four-term mayor of Fort Worth. He produced several multi-volume regional Texas histories, the present set being rather scarcer than others. Topics include the Peters Colony, histories of Fort Worth and El Paso, with numerous biographies of the prominent ranchers, businessmen, and pioneers of the region.
