August Derleth and Dwig [Clare Victor Dwiggins]. Five First Editions, One Signed by Dwig, including: Bill's Diary; Oliver, the Wayward Owl; A Boy's Way; It's a Boy's World; Wilbur, the Trusting Whippoorwill. Sauk City, Wisconsin: Stanton and Lee, 1945-1959.

First hardcover editions. Five twelvemo volumes. Bill's Diary is inscribed and signed "To George from Dwig" on the front endpaper.

Bill's Diary, A Boy's Way, and It's a Boy's World are cloth (green, blue, and gray, respectively) with black and blue titles and illustrations. Oliver and Wilbur are white/off-white paper-covered boards with black titles and illustrations. All are near fine to fine with minor wear. Writer-anthologist August Derleth (1909-1971) grew up in Sauk City, Wisconsin, where he founded Arkham House Publishers. Well known for his forays into horror and detective fiction, he also wrote poetry, which is well represented in these volumes featuring illustrations and comic strips by Dwig. From the Robert and Diane Yaspan Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
