    More Information:

Albert G. Nye. Sea Mosses from the Pacific Coast. San Francisco, 1880.

Tall octavo with twenty-six mounted specimens. No text as this was a personal project of Nye's.

Contemporary half brown morocco over brown cloth, gilt cover lettering, spine and leather edge gilt-ruled. Some wear to extremities but overall a very handsome presentation.

Extremely fine and delicate examples of West Coast sea mosses and very unusual in that none have become broken or detached. Albert Nye, a California artist, was born in Massachusetts and moved to San Francisco in the 1870s. After the earthquake he removed to Oakland where he died in 1922.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
