    Endpapers illustrated with green botanical design.

    Rubbed covers, lighlty bumped corners and spine ends, chipping to spine, some white discoloration. Light toning and foxing to preliminary pages and frontispieces, small tear to rear free endpaper and hinges are beginning to break.   

    First American edition poitns: Page 242 lines 20-21 reads perfectly "premises-said he / was occupying his." BAL 3337. Advertisemetn present on page [592].
