Translated out of Greeke into French by James Amyot: and out of French into Englishe by Thomas North: the Illustrations by T. L. Poulton: with the Fifteen Supplementary Lives of 1603. London: The Nonesuch Press, 1929.

    First edition thus. One of 1,550 numbered copies. Five small folio volumes.

    Publisher's dark cloth with light tan paper title plates affixed to the spines, lettered in black. Top edges gilt. Deckled fore-edges. Moderate edge wear, mildly bumped corners, and rubbing to the boards. Endpapers toned. Three volumes have previous owner's bookplate affixed to the front pastedown; the other two volumes have residue from said bookplate, but bookplate not present. Overall, the set is in very good condition.
