    Octavo. 224 pages.

    Housed in a red cloth clamshell box stamped in gilt.

    Covers are rubbed, lightly bumped corners and spine ends, significantly discolored spine and some white spotting. Some foxing throughout. Notes to pastedown endpapers and insciription on preliminary blank. Very minor rubbing to box and darkening to top edge and fore-edge. Very good condition.  

    First edition, binding B points: Bound in plum cloth with the spine reading "Leaves from Margaret Smith's Journal Ticknor & Co" in gilt. Blindstamped fillets on the spine. Bound without Publisher's catalog in the front, which is not necessary. BAL 21766
