    The deluxe edition, limited to 100 copies on Papier de Hollande, this being number 10. Two large quarto volumes. [xxiv], 446, plus three pages of ads; unpaginated, with 336 plates. Preface by Paul Gavault. Text in French and English. Illustrated with color and black and white plates.

    Rebound by A. J. Gonon with original wrappers and spines bound in. Volume I is half bound in straight-grain brown morocco and marbled paper boards; Volume II is bound in full straight-grain brown morocco with decorative gilt borders and with a three-color leather onlay in a flower design in the center of both boards. The volumes have uniform spines, with gilt stamping and four raised bands; both have gilt top edges and marbled endpapers. Joints rubbed. Hinges of Volume I starting. Housed in rubbed and battered slipcases, one broken. Both volumes in generally fine condition.

    The first edition of Gumuchian's Catalogue 13, an impressive and bibliographically significant catalog of fifteenth- to early-nineteenth-century children's literature. "This splendidly illustrated bookseller's catalogue of 6,251 children's books is the first major bibliography solely devoted to children's books and has become a standard reference work on the subject" (The Grolier Club, Bibliography, 158).
