    Housed in maroon chemise and slipcover with the spine stamped in gilt.

    Light rubbing to covers, some bumping to corners and spine ends which are starting to fray. Very minor toning and very light foxing, small pencil notations and a small stain to the front free endpaper. Slipcover is slightly darkened at the spine and top edge, very minor rubbing. A good copy of one of the author's best known novels written under the pseudonym Ik Marvel.  

    First edition, first issue points: frontispiece and vignette title-page inserted and perfect type of "sleep" on the last line of page 29 and "escapes" on the last line of page 43. The spine is stamped in gilt including four acorn clusters with the stems pointing right, left, right, left. BAL 13927
