Army Lists for the War of 1812

[British Army]. A List of All Officers of the Army and Royal Marines on Full and Half-Pay: With an Index: and a Succession of Colonels, 1811, 1813, and 1814. London: C. Roworth for the War-Office, 1811, 1813, and 1814.

    First editions. Three octavo volumes. 473, [96]; 531, [99]; 553, [101] pages.

Later half speckled calf over purple buckram boards. Titles stamped in gilt on leather labels on the spine. Spines refreshed. Light shelf wear to boards. The 1811 and 1814 volumes lack title pages. With armorial bookplates from the War Office's Secretary of State Library. Withdrawn ink stamps on the preliminary pages. "Library" ink stamp on bottom edge of text block. Contents bright. In total, a very good set.

These lists cover the War of 1812 period and would have incalculable value for researching British Army and Royal Marine personnel. The lists are indexed and have extensive information on appointments per regiment and include lists of those officers who have resigned or have been cashiered, dismissed or have died.
