    Idah Meacham Strobridge. The Land of Purple Shadows. Los Angeles: The Artemisia Bindery, 1909. First edition, one of 1,000 copies inscribed by the author for a friend, this being copy 103. Additionally, this book has a signed limitation page in the back stating that this is the 1,346th book bound by Strobridge at the Artemisia Bindery. Small quarto. [134] pages. Specially bound by the author in three-quarter black morocco over cloth boards, gilt (recipient's name on the front board in gilt). Binding worn, spine chipped, joints cracked, with later cloth tape repairs to hinges. Good. Strobridge was the first female bookbinder in Los Angeles.
