    Winston Churchill. The Collected Works of Sir Winston Churchill. London: Library of Imperial History, 1973-1976. Centenary Limited Edition, limited to 3,000 total sets. Thirty-four volumes. Octavo (9.125 x 6 inches; 232 x 150 mm.). Various paginations. In-text maps, tables, facsimiles and plans, some with added color; numerous leaves of plates on coated paper with black-and-white photographic reproductions and facsimiles; folding maps, tables, and facsimiles. Original vellum; fronts decorated in gilt with Churchill's armorial bearings; spines ruled and lettered in gilt. All edges trimmed and gilt; with ribbon placeholders. Marbled endpapers. Each volume in green simulated leather-covered slipcase, stamped in gilt with Churchill's arms. Varying amounts of wear to slipcases with occasional abrasions and spots of soiling; tops rather dusty; simulated leather beginning to peel up in a few spots. One or two instances of splashing to backstrips. Some boards a touch bowed; a few areas of darkening or discoloration to vellum. A sophisticated set, with most volumes lacking registered set numbers; fifth volume with label on front pastedown numbered "521" and stating its publication for "Gordon Wong"; nineteenth through twenty-first volumes numbered "1216" and published for "Robert Hayward King." Very good slipcases housing a near fine to fine set of books.

Some light shelf wear at extremities of slipcases, else near fine. Volumes in fine condition.
