The Crowborough Edition, limited to 760 sets, of which this is number 426, and signed by the author. Twenty-four octavo volumes (8.25 x 5.5 inches; 218 x 142 mm). Portrait frontispiece in Volume I. Title-pages printed in red and black. Publisher's original buckram backstrips over brown paper boards, front boards gilt-stamped with Doyle's signature, printed paper label on spines. Top edges gilt, others untrimmed. Spines toned and occasionally soiled; some wear, occasional soiling to labels; previous owner's signature in volume I; some hinges repaired; some foxing to endleaves; text slightly toned. Overall, a very good example of the best edition of Doyle's works. Green and Gibson A61. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
