    In Fifteen Volumes

Mr. De Rapin Thoryas. The History of England, as Well as Ecclesiastical and Civil. Done Into English from the French with Large and Useful Notes Mark'd with an *, by N. Tindal. Dublin: A. Reames, 1726-1732.

Fifteen octavo volumes. Title pages printed in black and red. Index at the end of each volume.

Bound in contemporary calf, covers ruled in blind and paneled in light brown and black, spines with two dark red gilt morocco lettering labels. Spines chipped at edges and mildly worn, several joints starting, some mild dampstaining to text at bottom, a few tears throughout, each volume with the ownership bookplate of the Unitarian Sunday School Reference Library mounted on front pastedowns. Overall, very good.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
