Extensively illustrated. Publisher's full blue cloth, front boards stamped in blind, spines tooled and lettered in gilt. Top edges gilt. Pictorial endleaves. Bindings somewhat worn; some soiling to bindings; several volumes with cracking or starting hinges. Overall, a good set. This set is an essential addition to any library about the Civil War. It has over thirty nine contributors, including both Union and Confederate officers; President William H. Taft, and has extensive photographic illustrations, many by Matthew Brady. From the James C.
