Octavo. xii, 214, [215, blank], [216, advertisement. A gorgeous brown morocco binding by de Sauty (stamp-signed on the bottom turn-in of the front cover). Front cover elaborately tooled in gilt, black, and green, with a whimsical bird figure with a red-stamped eye perched on a branch, inside a frame of elaborate floral stamping. Rear cover with a ghostly genie figure stamped in gilt rising out of a black magician's top hat. Both covers with a double-ruled gilt border. Spine stamped in gilt and black in compartments inside five raised bands. Triple-ruled gilt inner dentelles. Original cloth bound in at rear. Minor wear to spine tail and edges. Minor offsetting of turn-ins to the endpapers. An internally clean copy in near fine condition.
