Small octavo. 20, [1, blank], [1, colophon] pages. With eight engravings by Gwenda Morgan. Original quarter blue cloth over marbled boards, spine lettered in gilt, deckled edge. Bookseller's ticket affixed to rear pastedown. A short tear to the marbled paper on the rear board, which is starting to come away, else a very good copy. [and:] [Pantheon Books]. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. One Hundred and Sixty Illustrations by Gustave Doré. New York: Pantheon Books, Inc., [1944]. Stated first printing. Small folio. 213, [1, blank] pages. With intertextual illustrations throughout. Full polished calf, two single-fillet borders rolled in blind, spine lettered and tooled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. Bookseller's ticket affixed to rear pastedown. Some light rubbing to board extremities, else a very good copy. [and:] [Caxton Club]. Harry J. Owens. Doctor Faust. A Play - based upon old German puppet versions . With woodcuts by Fritz Kredel. Chicago: The Caxton Club, 1953. Limited edition, one of 350 copies. Small folio. XXXVI leaves. Letterpress printed in red and black on rag paper, with intertextual woodcuts throughout. Quarter beige buckram over decorative paper, trident stamp in gilt to front board, spine lettered in gilt, top edge gilt. Bookplate affixed to front pastedown. Some light soiling to spine and rubbing to board extremities, and subtle toning to outer margins. Overall a very good copy.
