Richard Laymon. Midnight's Lair Page Proofs, Corrected by the Author, and a Copy of the Published Book.
Popular American horror writer Richard Laymon (1947-2001), authored more than sixty short stories and thirty-plus novels, a number of which were published after his death. We offer here his hand-corrected proofs for a later paperback re-issue of Midnight's Lair by Zebra Books (originally published in 1988 by W.H. Allen in London, under his pseudonym Richard Kelly). Evidently, Zebra Press used the 1993 body of St. Martin's text as the template for their paperback, as errors noted here by Laymon match those that appeared print in the 1993 St. Martin's issue.

Corrected proof runs more than 300 pages and is accompanied by its original cover letter from Kensington Publishing/Zebra Books. Both items are in fine condition, with a few minor creases at page corners. Also included is a photocopy of Laymon's handwritten explanation as to what is offered here: "This manuscript contains the copies of the pages I corrected and returned to Zebra." Laymon's edits appear in red ink throughout the manuscript. Accompanied by a pristine copy of the St. Martin's Press 1993 hardcover first edition, printed under Laymon's real name. From the Robert and Diane Yaspan Collection.
