Inscribed by Burroughs on the front free endpaper to his friend, John Higgins, "Sincerely / Edgar Rice Burroughs / To my old friend / John Higgins Esq." Octavo. [x], 400, [5, blank] pages. Publisher's red cloth (without the acorn on the spine), front board and spine lettered in gilt, front board double-ruled in blind. Binding has been recased, with repairs to joints and hinges. Cloth spine sunned and soiled, with reinforcement to corners of spine. Boards toned, soiled, and worn. Inscribed front free endpaper has been inserted and restored (possibly supplied from another book), and is creased, worn, and soiled. Bound without the rear free endpaper. Text a bit toned. Text occasionally soiled or dampstained, creased, and with some occasional tears. Fair. Zeushner, pp. 424-425. Housed in buckram clamshell case.
