Text in double columns (The Whole Book of Psalms in triple columns). Engraved frontispiece portrait of George II by J. Cole. Historiated woodcut initials.

    This copy contains sixty-six engraved plates, with four engravings on each plate, with special engraved title: The Historical Part of the Holy Bible. Or the Old and New Testament Exquisitely and Accurately describ'd in near Three Hundred Historys. Engraven by John Sturt, From Designs of the Greatest Masters. [London]: Sold by Richd. Ware at the Bible and Sun in Amen-Corner, [n.d.]. There are also six double-page engraved maps with separate title printed in red and black: Sacred Geography Contained in Six Maps, viz. I. Shewing the Situation of Paradise and the Country inhabited by the Patriarchs. II. The Peopling the World by the Sons of Noah, and the Israelites Journeying in the Wilderness. III. A Plan of the City of Jerusalem with a View of Solomon's Temple, and all the sacred Utensils therin. IV. The Holy Land, divided into the Twelve Tribes of Israel in which is exactly traced our Saviour's Travels. V. The Land of Canaan. VI. The Travels of St. Paul, and the rest of the Apostles. The whole very Useful for the better Understanding of the Holy Bible. London: Printed for Richard Ware, at the Bible and Sun in Amen-Corner, 1725. The engraved title for The Historical Part of the Holy Bible is bound before the title for The Holy Bible, and the title for the Sacred Geography is bound following the dedication leaf.

    Contemporary black calf (worn). Covers decoratively panelled in gilt with central oval red morocco onlay decoratively tooled in gilt with the letters "JHS" in the center, spine elaborately tooled in gilt in seven compartments with six raised bands, board edges and turn-ins decoratively tooled in gilt, marbled endpapers. Unfortunately, the joints are cracked and the boards are detached. Some foxing, browning, and occasional staining. A few short tears. Early ink and pencil ownership inscriptions on front free endpaper and flyleaf. Early ink annotations on the verso of the plate at Kkkk4, being a history of the Ash family, beginning with Caleb Ash (1744-1797), son of Joshua and Alice Ash. Additional early ink annotations on rear endleaves.
