Description

Eugene O'Neill: Strange Interlude Signed Limited Edition. (New York: Boni & Liveright, 1928), 298 pages, limited edition #349 of 775, signed "Eugene O'Neill" on the limitation page, full leather with gold stamped facsimile signature on the cover, deckle edges, printed on all-rag watermarked paper, 9.75" x 12". The printing for this book was done in two colors because the author wished to distinguish between the actual dialogue and the thoughts of the characters. Lacking the original publisher's slipcase. O'Neill earned four Pulitzer Prizes and rose to the forefront of American theatre during his lifetime. His major works included Long Days Journey Into Night, Emperor Jones, Anna Christie, and The Iceman Cometh. The book is in fine condition; corners lightly bumped and rounded.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
