    Description

Eugene Field. With Trumpet and Drum. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1892. First edition. Signed and dated manuscript poem on the front free endpaper. Octavo. ix, [1, blank], 126 pages. Publisher's original white and blue cloth binding with titles and decoration in blue. Light to moderate soiling to boards with fraying at the spine ends and corners. Very good. Housed in a custom quarter-morocco over marbled boards clamshell case. Field has written, signed and dated the last eight lines of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod on the front free endpaper. This is not one of the 250 numbered limited edition that contained two manuscript poems.
