    Ernest Hemingway. The Old Man and the Sea. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1952. First edition, first printing with "A" and shield. In the first state dust jacket with image on rear panel tinted in blue. Octavo. 140 pages. Publisher's light blue cloth with titles in silver and blind. Mild rubbing and toning to binding with lower corner of front board softly bumped. Spine slightly leaning. Faint offsetting to endpapers and small bookseller's stamp to rear pastedown. Vivid, and likely married, jacket shows a bit of edge toning. Small areas of residue and paper loss to verso of flaps. Corner of rear flap detached and reinforced with tape to verso.
