    Ernest Hemingway. Men Without Women. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1927. First edition, first printing, with a perfect "3" on page 3. Octavo. 232 pages. Publisher's black cloth with gold paper labels on front board and spine, stamped in black. Top edge red. In the first issue dust jacket, with no reviews on the front jacket panel. Cloth spine very lightly toned and rubbed. Boards lightly rubbed and soiled. Endleaves lightly toned with some minor occasional soiling and a small pencil notation on the rear pastedown, ink ownership stamp on front free endpaper. Text lightly toned, with a few gutters overopened. Skewed. Jacket spine missing about one inch at the top, tailcap chipped. Spine toned and worn, Jacket panels worn, toned, soiled, creased, with some chips and tears. A very good copy in a fair jacket. "There were fine and important stories among the fourteen collected in the volume [Men Without Women], some of them certified masterpieces: 'The Undefeated,' 'Hills Like White Elephants' and 'In Another Country'" (James R.
