Publisher's stapled wraps showing light wear and splits on both spine ends. Contains complete text of the novella, preceding the book's publication by eleven days. [and:] The Old Man and the Sea. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1952. First edition, first state with image on rear tinted in blue. Publisher's light blue cloth with stamping in blind and silver. Cloth is rubbed and lightly soiled. There is a one-inch split along the top edge of the front board. Spine is leaning. Minor toning to endpapers. The dust jacket is lightly rubbed and edge worn with a crack running the length of the spine near the rear joint. This crack has resulted in a two-inch split starting at the top edge. Edges are toned. Overall, both items in this lot are in very good condition.
