First issue dust jacket is slightly browned and foxed, with chipping and some small losses; some splitting along front flap fold. Old cellophane tape repairs to the verso of jacket. A very good copy.

    Ernest Hemingway. Death in the Afternoon. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1932. First edition, first printing. Octavo. 517 pages. Full color frontispiece by Juan Gris and numerous black and white photographs. Publisher's original black cloth, with gilt title and decoration on spine, author's facsimile signature in gilt on front board. Minor scuffing and rubbing to board edges, spine ends, and sheet edges, but generally a fine copy. Textblock is clean and tight. First issue pictorial dust jacket is slightly browned and foxed, with chipping and some small losses to corners and spine ends; some splitting along front flap fold. Old cellophane tape repairs to the verso of jacket. Altogether, a very good copy with a still attractive dust jacket.
