A scholar, poet, writer and bibliophile, Melba Bennett was an avid reader of poetry, and was drawn to the works of Robinson Jeffers in the 1930s. Years of loyal assistance to the Jeffers family, having gained the confidence of both Una and Robinson Jeffers, led to her being invited to do his authorized biography - a work fueled by admiration and respect.
