Emanuel Swedenborg. De Nova Hierosolyma Et Eius Doctrina Coelesti: Ex Auditis e Coelo. Quibus praemittitur aliquid de Novo Coelo & nova Terra. London: [John Lewis,] 1758. Krown & Spellman retail: $1000. First Edition. 4to. A-T4,U2. 156pp. [Lacks errata] Modern leather, spine banded, title gilt on red leather, minor foxing, pencil underlines and notes. Head-piece, vignette on t.p. From the Krown & Spellman Collection.

More Information: A rare first edition of "The New Jerusalem," the foundation of Swedenborg's (1688-1722) attempt to revive the Christian Church from within.  As in "Heaven and Hell," published in the same year, he writes from direct experience of psychic worlds beyond space and time.  While his visions are expressed in the religious terminology of his century, there can be no doubt that Swedenborg was one of the most intrepid travelers into the far reaches of human consciousness.  As with several other works by Swedenborg, this was printed anonymously in London by John Lewis in an edition of 1,000 copies.  ESTC T135860. Hyde 1210. Lowndes 2553. Rosenthal, Magica, 2842.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
