Elizabeth Barrett Browning. An Essay on Mind, with Other Poems. London: James Duncan, 1826. First edition, mixed impression with "found" on line 15 of page 75 (first impression); pages 24 and 148 are mis-aligned (as found in the second impression), but page number 12 is correctly aligned (as found in first impression). Octavo. [xvi], 152 pages with 12-page publisher's catalogue, Prospectus and Specimen of the Modern Traveller (16mo, printed on yellow paper) inserted at rear. Barnes binding B with blue-gray paper covered boards backed with drab, printed paper label to spine, and calling for the publisher's catalogue (here present); front joint starting but holding, paper label chipped with minor losses, corners rubbed, mild staining to boards, scattered chipping. Cream-colored endpapers, edges uncut, with the armorial bookplate of Ernest George Salt to front pastedown and the leather, gilt-stamped book label of Estelle Doheny to front free endpaper. Internally generally clean with scattered, minor foxing. Housed in a sunned morocco pull-off case with a gilt-stamped spine, minor wear. Very good.

    Barnes EB2; Doheny IV:1137.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
