    Edwin Booth: Personal Copy of His Prompt Book for Much Ado About Nothing, The Merchant of Venice, and Katharine and Petruchio Bound Together (New York: Printed for William Winter, by Francis Hart & Company, 1878), 229 pages total, modern red half leather binding with gilt titles and outlining and marbled paper boards, 16mo (4.75" x 6.5"). Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Booth's personal bookplate signed by him in pencil is affixed to the front pastedown. Edwin Booth was one of the most well-respected Shakesperean actors of the 19th century, whose fame was later superceded by his younger brother's infamy when John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Lincoln. The book is in very good condition, with minor bottom edge wear and bumped corners.
