    More Information:

"Artist John Coleman Burroughs (1913-1979), ERB's younger son, painted the wrap-around dust jacket art using his sister, Joan Burroughs and her husband, James H. Pierce, as models. John Coleman Burroughs also provided the frontispiece and one other interior black-and-white plate on what would be page 173, a frontispiece for 'The Rider.' This was the first book he illustrated for his father." (Zeuschner, Edgar Rice Burroughs: The Bibliography, 2016.)
