Frontispiece and three additional inserted sepia plates by J. Allen St. John. Publisher's olive cloth, spine and front lettered in black; all text block edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket, restored. Spine ends rolled and showing just a bit of wear, with hint of fraying starting at foot; minor discoloration along joints; speck of brown soiling at rear board; board edges faintly darkened and worn; corners gently tapped. Endpapers and text block softly dulled; mild age discoloration, foxing, and a small handful of smudged stains at endpapers; bookseller's ticket at front pastedown; two very short tears and associated creasing at head of front free endpaper, one repaired; a few instances of mild, marginal staining scattered throughout interior. Jacket restored at edges, flap folds, and ends of spine panel, with spine title appearing in facsimile or supplied from another copy; color correction applied to edges of front panel; general light rubbing, with a bit of minor soiling at rear panel.
