Presentation copy, inscribed by the author to his daughter Joan: "To Joan / lots of love / Papa." Octavo. [viii], 316, [10, ads], [2, blank] pages. Frontispiece by J. Allen St. John. Publisher's red cloth, spine and front board lettered in black, in original later-state dust jacket with twenty-eight Burroughs titles listed on the rear panel. Spine ends gently pushed; just the smallest touch of extremity wear. Dust jacket edges worn with two large chips to the crown and occasional smaller chips; spine panel very faintly darkened; upper margins lightly creased; light rubbing throughout.
