Description

Edgar Rice Burroughs. Tarzan at the Earth's Core. New York: Metropolitan Books, [1930]. First edition of the thirteenth Tarzan adventure, crossing over into Burroughs's Pellucidar series. Presentation copy, inscribed by Burroughs to his son Hulbert: "To / Hulbert / with love / Papa / Tarzana / California." Octavo. [2, blank], [viii], 301, [1, blank] pages. Frontispiece by J. Allen St. John. Publisher's light green cloth, front board and spine lettered in black, in original dust jacket. Hint of a spine lean; just a touch of wear to crown and extremities; foot of spine and bottom corners very gently bumped. Faint offsetting to endpapers. Small hole to fore-edge margin of pages 141/142. Dust jacket restored with chipped edges and split folds expertly mended and discreetly color corrected; spine panel dulled; limited faint foxing, visible only on verso. A near fine copy in an attractively restored jacket. Bleiler, Science-Fiction: The Early Years, 310; Bleiler, The Checklist of Science-Fiction and Supernatural Fiction, p. 35; Heins, pp. 72-73, p. 139; Zeuschner (1996), 665; Zeuschner (2016), p. 401.

    More Information:

"On December 6, 1928, only a few weeks after completing Tanar of Pellucidar, Burroughs began work on a continuation volume which ties up the loose ends left by the Tanar tale, but now involving Tarzan... It is a favorite with many fans" (Zeuschner, Edgar Rice Burroughs: The Bibliography, 2016).

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
