Presentation copy, inscribed by the author to his son, Hulbert, five days before publication: "To / Hulbert / with love / O. B. [Old Burroughs] / August 27, 1933 / [--]" Octavo. 316, [1, author's works], [3, blank] pages. Frontispiece and four illustrated plates by J. Allen St. John inserted throughout. Publisher's blue cloth, front board and spine lettered in red, top edge stained red, in original dust jacket. Bottom edges and corners rubbed; crown lightly worn. Few minor scratched to top edge of text block. Spine panel faintly dulled; light chipping at fold edges; some light wear and a faint vertical crease top rear panel; a couple small interior holes to front flap mended; folds very discreetly reinforced. A near fine copy in a expertly repaired jacket with an attractive overall appearance.
