First edition, signed by Burroughs ("Best Wishes / Edgar Rice Burroughs"), his daughter Joan Burroughs (who played Jane on a radio version of Tarzan, 1932-1934), and her husband, James H. Pierce (who played Tarzan opposite Joan in the same radio version of Tarzan; he also played the ape man in the 1927 film, Tarzan and the Golden Lion). In various color inks. Octavo. [319], [1, blank] pages, with six inserted plates. Bound in publisher's blue cloth, front board and spine lettered in red, dust jacket. Jacket spine a bit toned, some rubbing and occasional minor wear and a few short tears to jacket, cloth spine lightly sunned, some rubbing to binding, remnant of bookseller's ticket on rear pastedown. A near fine copy. This was the second title published by Burroughs' publishing company, and was not printed with "First Edition" on the copyright page. Zeuschner 206.
