    The Lenore Edition, One of Only Ten Sets of Poe's Works with Plates in Three States

    Lenore Edition, one of ten sets printed on Japan Vellum, this being set number 10. Complete in ten quarto volumes. Frontispieces and plates in three states, with hand-colored frontispiece state signed by the artist. All plates with descriptive tissue guards.

    Finely bound by the publisher (stamp-signed) in full dark green levant morocco. Covers ruled and paneled in gilt with shamrock motifs and cornerpieces, spines stamped in gilt in compartments with shamrock motifs or lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Gilt-stamped turn-ins with similar shamrock motif, red morocco doublures, red silk liners. Some rubbing and wear to each volume, three volumes either rebacked or re-hinged. All volumes slightly skewed. Bookplates. A very good set.
