With the following issue points (priority not established): in volume II, page number 213 is correct and the hyphen and the "I" on page 219 both appear below the line. Two octavo volumes bound in one. 243, [1, blank]; 228, [2, blank] pages. Bound without ads, otherwise complete. Covers and spine missing. Marbled free endpapers only. Text foxed and soiled. Good.

    "These volumes mark the culmination of Poe's effort, beginning as early as 1834 to get his prose tales into volume form. It is a milestone in his career as a prose writer, but was a failure commercially" (Heartman & Canny, A Bibliography of First Printings of the Writings of Edgar Allan Poe, page 53). BAL 16133.
